Title: Financial Contract Management Specialist, GIZ Office Ankara

Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension

Location: Ankara or Gaziantep

A. Main Activities

  • Ensures financial administration functions in accordance with GIZ standards and procedures
  • Proceeds and checks incoming advance requests, financial statements, invoices and billing for formal factual price, tax correctness, compliance with contract arrangements and further legal and internal quality requirements
  • Handling a key account for financing agreements (Grants. Local Subsidies) in the GIZ Country Office
  • Proceeding travel claims of GIZ staff
  • Substitutes in bank and cash payment
  • Regularly monitors real accounts (liabilities, receivables) for purchases, contracts and financing agreements and reports regularly to the projects and the management
  • Regularly records invoice verification and carries out invoice checking tasks in SAP and prepares foreseen reports and settlement sheets
  • Advises on financial aspects of projects
  • Supports the projects in financial matters for billing and invoicing
  • Trains office and project staff in the financial matters for billing and invoicing

 

B. Required qualifications, competencies, and experience

 

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or in a similar field

 

Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • In depth knowledge of using accounting softwares (Winpaccs, SAP)

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Native in Turkish, professional proficiency in English, and knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
  • Confidential handling of data and information
  • Advanced working knowledge of ICT and computer applications (e.g. MS Office package) required
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in administration
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle stressful situations appropriately
