ROLE PURPOSE:

The PSS assistants will be responsible to Offering counselling, and psychological support to individuals include on-one sessions, group sessions, involve setting short-term and long-term objectives, keep tracking continuing professional development opportunities in the field of psychology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for facilitating PSS sessions and social cohesion activities for individuals with and without disabilities.
  • Develop daily plans aligned with the PSS curriculum, ensuring the availability of necessary materials.
  • Create and implement PSS tools and resources to showcase beneficiaries' growth and development.
  • Conduct engaging sessions tailored to specific age groups, encouraging active participation from all individuals.
  • Ensure adherence to safe learning practices during all activities and sessions.
  • Administer pre- and post-assessments to track beneficiaries' progress towards their learning goals, ensuring timely completion of assessments, follow-ups, and progress reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with beneficiaries and their families, including progress reports and any pertinent information.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, fostering a safe and respectful environment while ensuring inclusive participation.
  • Monitoring and Reporting, achievements, and any challenges encountered, reporting findings to the Shafak Program and technical team.
  • Data Management, and report all collected data in a timely manner, following a monthly schedule, including number of individuals, participations, achievements, and new registration requests, update Shafak Program and technical team on any issues, challenges or gaps in implementation.
  • Communication, and keep individuals informed of any updates or changes to the PSS or Caregiver Engagement schedule.
  • Support and Collaboration with direct manager, assist in curriculum development, lesson planning, assessments, and objective setting,
  • collaborating closely with the MEAL team to monitor activities effectively, with existing PSS, social cohesion, and Caregiver Engagement monitoring tools and use PSS selection criteria effectively.
  • Uphold principles of PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), promptly reporting any incidents.
  • Be prepared to undertake any other duties as directed by your supervisor, as required by the nature of the job.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Turkish Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology or psychological counselling, or other related field is preferable.
  • Experience working in protection at least 1 years.
  • Good communication skills with good written and spoken Turkish, English, and Arabic.
  • Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Advanced knowledge in curriculum development. 
  • Advanced knowledge in teaching principles.
  • Basic knowledge in report writing.
  • Basic knowledge in Excel & Word.
  • Living in Reyhanlı is preferable.
