Job Title: Media Officer.
Summary of the position:
This position is responsible for all media-related activities of the organization, including photographing events and activities conducted in Turkey and within Syria, as well as managing the organization's social media pages and official website. The employee will be responsible for creating creative content, updating and documenting media data related to programs, and enhancing the organization's media presence across multiple platforms.
Reference number : RV-OTG-005.
Administrative dependency : The position directly reports to the Executive Director.

Gaziantep, Turkey, with the possibility of travel within the organization's operational

Job duties and responsibilities :
Photographing and documenting events and activities of the organization in Turkey and Syria (photos, videos).
Managing and organizing content on social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and the official website.
Creating innovative and engaging media content (articles, reports, photos, videos) to promote the organization’s activities and programs.
Keeping up with developments in social media and modern trends to improve the performance of pages and the website.
Managing and analyzing audience interaction on social media platforms and responding to inquiries effectively.
Documenting media activities in an organized and updated manner on the website and other related sites.
Writing media reports and press releases for activities, projects, and events.
Working to enhance the organization’s image in the media through public relations strategies.
Collaborating with different departments to ensure effective and accurate flow of media information.
Providing periodic reports on the performance of media activities and their impact on audience engagement.
Developing innovative media strategies to interact with the target community and increase awareness of the organization.
Documenting and following up on all media information and data related to programs and projects.
Working with other teams to plan and execute media campaigns aimed at attracting support and engagement.
Monitoring and analyzing media communication reports and providing recommendations for performance improvement.
Participating in coordinating media events and promoting them through the media.
Producing high-quality video content that creatively reflects the organization’s message and programs.
Preparing and designing infographics and media releases to highlight achievements and activities.
Organizing online competitions and events to attract a wider audience and enhance engagement.
Coordinating with journalists and local and international media outlets to increase media coverage.
Improving search engine optimization (SEO) for the website and increasing its visibility in search results.
Preparing and reviewing press releases and media publications for the organization.
Conducting media interviews with participants and partners to document their experiences and the organization’s impact.
Monitoring media campaigns and evaluating their effectiveness, with comprehensive reporting.
Managing interactions with the media and writing press responses and comments when necessary.
Coordinating with public relations departments to organize media meetings and interviews.
Organizing and documenting media training and workshops offered by the organization.
Creating and managing online promotional media campaigns to raise awareness about the programs.
Coordinating with government entities to organize official media events.
Qualifications and requirements:
A university degree in Media, Journalism, or a related field.
Previous experience in media or social media management.
Strong knowledge in managing websites and digital engagement tools.
Advanced proficiency in Arabic or English (both written and spoken).
Proficiency in Turkish is an additional advantage.
Turkish citizenship is required.
Skills:
High skills in photography and documentation (photos and videos) with the ability to create creative and engaging media content.
Proficiency in using photo and video editing software (such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro).
Comprehensive knowledge of managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Excellent media and journalistic writing and reporting skills.
Ability to think creatively and offer new ideas to improve media performance.
Good communication skills with the audience and the ability to understand media requirements.
Full understanding of data analysis and measuring engagement on social media platforms.
Ability to manage the website and continuously update its content.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Creative skills in designing and creating innovative visual and graphic content.
Strong skills in search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure greater audience reach.
Proficiency in social media management tools (such as Hootsuite, Buffer).
Ability to organize media campaigns and online promotional events.
Strong public relations skills and interaction with media outlets.
Ability to write press releases and media statements professionally.
Teamwork skills and coordination with various departments to achieve media objectives.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to analyze and continuously evaluate media performance.
Creativity in thinking and developing new ideas to enhance the media performance of the organization.
Ability to design infographics and professional presentations using tools like Canva and Piktochart.
Intercultural communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Ability to build relationships with local and international media partners.
Familiarity with laws and regulations related to intellectual property rights and media documentation.
Skills in preparing and analyzing media reports and providing them periodically to senior management. Ability to work with the media team to define long-term media strategies and objectives.
Experience in managing digital media projects and interacting with video platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo.
Languages:
Advanced written and spoken Arabic language. Intermediate written and spoken English or/and in the Turkish language.
